PEER-LED. SYSTEMS-MINDED. BUILT INSIDE THE WORK.
LIVED Systems was built around a simple observation: organizations are investing in peer support faster than they are building the infrastructure required to support it well.
The result is often not a lack of commitment. It is a gap between what organizations believe about peer support and what their systems can actually do.
We work in that gap.
THE PRACTICE DESERVES A SYSTEM THAT UNDERSTANDS IT.
Peer support brings a distinct ethos, set of relationships, and way of working into systems that were largely built around other disciplines. When organizations simply insert peer workers into existing structures, those structures begin shaping the role—sometimes in unintended ways.
LIVED exists to help behavioral health organizations do something more deliberate.
We bring peer practice and organizational reality into the same conversation: clinical and operational expectations, supervision, policy, documentation, workforce strategy, financial pressure, leadership, and culture. The goal is not to protect peer support from accountability. It is to build accountability that actually understands the practice it is responsible for supporting.
JOE JEFFERIES, PRINCIPAL
Joe Jefferies built LIVED Systems from direct experience leading peer-support implementation inside complex behavioral health organizations.
His work has included peer workforce supervision, program development and expansion, peer-role and workflow design, supervision infrastructure, policy development, interdisciplinary integration, and the practical work of helping organizations reconcile peer practice with its operational realities.
That experience has repeatedly led to the same conclusion: organizations rarely need another person to tell them peer support matters. They need someone who understands the practice well enough—and the system around it well enough—to help make it work.
Joe’s approach combines lived-experience leadership with behavioral-health operations, social work, and systems thinking. LIVED is the extension of that work.

PRINCIPAL-LED BY DESIGN.
LIVED is a focused consultancy rooted in the practice and principles of peer support, and we intend to keep the work close to the expertise.
The person you meet is the person doing the work. No sales-team handoff, no standardized engagement passed to a junior consultant, and no prebuilt solution waiting for your logo.
When an engagement requires additional expertise, you can intentionally bring in collaborators. But the work remains grounded in the same principle: the people responsible for understanding your system should be the people helping you change it.
